Huston Street to Close Again
April 2, 2009
Rockies’ Manager Clint Hurdle is expected to announce that Huston Street has edged out Manny Corpas to win the closer spot for Colorado.
Despite his slow start, Street has been stellar this spring. He has required a maximum of twelve pitches to retire the side. Corpas was no lame duck, only allowing one earned run. However, he has shown a significant drop in his velocity which is cause for concern.
Until the decision is officially announced, hold onto Corpas, but we do recommend picking up Street just in case.
